Value World’s new thrift store in Houston is holding its Grand Opening Celebration for five days at 6960 Barker Cypress Rd, a new home for secondhand shopping in Houston’s northwest side.
The grand opening will feature an iPad giveaway, food trucks, and the first 30 customers through the doors at Value World Barker Cypress on Wednesday, October 21, each receive a 30% off coupon. So do the first 30 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
October 21 to 25
We’re celebrating Wednesday, October 21, through Sunday, October 25, 2026. Store hours stay normal. Monday through Saturday the doors are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday runs noon to 6 p.m.
Every day of the five carries the same two offers, a coupon for early arrivals and a way into the iPad giveaway. Join us on Saturday for food trucks!
First 30 customers, 30% off
Each day of the celebration, the first 30 customers receive a 30% off coupon.
If you miss out on the 30% off coupon, the daily color tag deal is always running. Every item at Barker Cypress carries a color tag or a white tag, and one color is marked 50% off every day. Each store posts its own color of the day, so look for that information when you walk in.
iPad giveaway and the VIP Club
Joining the free VIP Club enters you in the iPad giveaway. The winner is selected on October 28.
The VIP club is an incredible rewards program for anyone who enjoys thrifting. Every $1 you spend earns 1 point, 100 points gets you $5 off, and 150 points gets you $10 off. New members who opt into texts get a $5 off coupon, and every member gets 25% off on their birthday.
Saturday, October 24, noon to 3 p.m.
Saturday is the main celebration day, with food trucks on site from noon to 3 p.m. The daily coupons, the color tag deal, and the VIP Club giveaway all run that day too.
What the store holds
Barker Cypress opened with more than 70,000 items on the sales floor. Aisles are wide and sightlines are open.

The inventory mixes secondhand basics, vintage pieces, and new-with-tags finds. Affordable clothing in Houston shares the floor with housewares and toys.
More than 3,000 new items reach the floor daily. What is out on Wednesday will not match what is out on Sunday.
